Spurs chairman Daniel Levy checks his watch with time running out for boss Martin JolMartin Jol is facing the sack next month.
The position of the Spurs boss will be reviewed by the board during the international break in early October.
So Jol has just six games to save his skin — two against Famagusta in the UEFA Cup, Middlesbrough in the Carling Cup and crunch games with Bolton, Aston Villa and Liverpool in the Premier League.
Sources say Seville manager Juande Ramos remains on the clubÂ’s radar and that he has indicated he is ready to take up the reins at White Hart Lane when the time is right.
But the club last night denied they have made a move for former Tottenham favourite Jurgen Klinsmann — and insist sporting director Damien Comolli has not had a meeting with the German in Los Angeles as has been reported.
Jol’s Spurs lost again on Saturday — a 3-1 defeat home to derby rivals Arsenal — meaning they have won only one of their six Premier League games this season.
Ramos was approached by Spurs in August to take over but opted to stay at Seville when the meeting was rumbled by the Press.
Ironically, Ramos will be in North London this week when Seville play Arsenal in the Champions League.
