Inter striker Adriano claims he has overcome all his personal problems and will return to being the great player who was feared all over the world.
The Brazilian striker has suffered from depression and alcoholism ever since his father passed away and his form on the football field for the past 18 months has been miserable also.
The 25-year-old, once regarded as one of the best players in the world, has been a pale shadow of his former self and barely played for Inter during their Scudetto-winning campaign last season.
This season, things started equally badly and Adriano was left off the NerazzurriÂ’s Champion League squad list, thus rendering him ineligible for the group stages of the competition.
“I lost a year of my life and after the death of my father I had to drink because I could not sleep. However now my problems are over, my son is giving me great delight and I am returning to be the Emperor,” Adriano said.
“Now my mother and my son have returned by my side I have found my happiness again. The death of my father marked the beginning of a year and a half full of problems.
“I was at the peak of my career and I could have won the Golden Ball. Now I have changed and I am back.”
