Real Madrid boss Bernd Schuster will use the Chelsea feelbad factor to snap up Didier Drogba.
Schuster is a long-term admirer of the Ivory Coast striker, who was in tears over the shock sacking of close pal Jose Mourinho.
Drogba, 29, took Mourinho's exit from Stamford Bridge worse than any of his team-mates and Real have immediately made their interest known.
Schuster said: "We have been following him for a long time."
Real rely on 31-year-old Ruud van Nistelrooy and Raul, 30, for their goals but Schuster dismissed the idea Drogba's age would be a problem.
"With sports medicine the way it is these days a professional of his age is perfectly able to go on for three or four years more at the highest level," he said.
German Schuster also confirmed he is keen to sign Drogba's Chelsea team-mate Michael Ballack, who has not played this season because of an ankle injury.
