Avram Grant, Chelsea's controversial new manager, has one of the cruellest nicknames in football.
Sunday Mirror Sport can reveal that during his days at Portsmouth the 52-year-old Israeli was known by players as: "The man from the BBC - Balls, Bibs and Cones."
The players scoffed at Grant's input as technical director. He was supposed to offer an expert tactical overview for manager Harry Redknapp.
Instead when he was seen on the training ground he was acting as porter, carrying out equipment.
Grant moved to Chelsea as director of football in July and was promoted as Jose Mourinho's successor ten weeks later.
