West Ham are keeping a watchful eye on Everton striker Andy Johnson according to reports over the weekend.
The News of the World claims Johnson, originally from Bedford, is feeling home sick and struggling to settle in the north.
The paper claims the Hammers are monitoring the situation and quotes a source close to Johnson as saying:
"From a footballing perspective AJ's content but he's never happy too far from his roots.
"It was different at Birmingham when he could get down south fairly regularly - but he is also aware that he owes Everton a lot."
West Ham are not alone in monitoring the situation with the paper claiming that Spurs could also make a move in the January transfer window.
