Iker Casillas has insured his hands for 7.5 million euros as part of his new deal to promote insurance company Groupama.
The coverage, which at present extends only to the end of the current season, applies for all incidents both on and off the pitch, anytime and anywhere, was agreed at Groupama's headquarters in Madrid today.
As such, expect to see the player's face - and hands - in advertising material both in Spain and perhaps worldwide.
Groupama representatives jokingly asked La Liga's strikers "not to shoot very hard" as Iker was presented with his insurance policy on Wednesday, while the player himself remarked, "I'm excited. It's been fun, and I hope that people like it.
"And if I hurt my knee or my foot, I'm going to tell them that I hurt my hands," he laughed.
Casillas has been an ever-present in La Liga and the Champions League so far this season, the 71-times capped 26 year old having made well over 300 appearances in the white shirt in all competitions.
