Roman Abramovich broke his silence on Jose Mourinho’s departure from Chelsea — saying he is like a MEAL in his new restaurant.
The Russian billionaire, 40, was asked about former manager Mourinho at the opening of a new eaterie in the clubÂ’s Stamford Bridge ground.
He shrugged and said: “Well, Jose is like any dish in my restaurant. You like it or not, but it doesn’t stay on the table for long.”
Abramovich was making a rare public appearance with girlfriend Daria Zukhova, 24.
Asked about the restaurant, named Marco after its chef Marco Pierre White, he joked: “I haven’t tried the food yet. If it’s okay I might come. If not, then obviously I won’t come here.”
HellÂ’s Kitchen star Marco was joined at the launch by contestants on the ITV show, including winner Barry McGuigan.
Meanwhile Mourinho, 44 — who left Chelsea “by mutual consent” — enjoyed a farewell dinner with family and friends at his favourite London restaurant, San Lorenzo.
He told photographers: “Goodbye everybody. This is my last dinner in London.
“Me and my family are going back to Portugal for good tomorrow, where I will be waiting for a new job.”
