The Cameroon Football Federation has revealed how money changed hands during a top flight game, in an apparent attempt to influence the outcome of the match.
Bamboutos FC of Mbouda have been relegated two divisions and will not play their three remaining games of the current season - subject to appeal.
Bamboutos were playing Federal SC of Noun on the 15th of September, with both sides facing relegation, when the extraordinary sequence of events unfolded.
With 25 minutes of the second half gone, Federal equalised to make it 2-2, and were threatening to take the lead.
The coach of Bamboutos then called over the the opposition captain, Nkoun a Rim, in front of an incredulous crowd.
Shortly afterwards, according to Fecafoot's website, Bamboutos captain Koss Roger faked an injury.
He was attended by medical official Barthelemy Tchio - who, Fecafoot say, handed over an envelope containing cash in front of match officials and about 1000 fans.
Roger subsequently passed the envelope to Nkoun A Rim, who was then involved in the incident which lead to Bamboutos scoring a third and apparently decisive goal.
But the incident was reported to Fecafoot by match officials, and at a meeting on Friday the Federation relegated Bamboutos and banned the people involved.
Bamboutos coach Saturnin Anaba and fitness official Barthelemy Tchio have both been banned for three years, whilst the players - Bamboutos captain Koss Roger and his Federal counterpart Nkoun a Rim - were banned for two years each.
Bamboutos say they will appeal against the rulings.
