Juventus sporting director Alessio Secco fears captain Alessandro Del Piero could leave the club at the end of the season.
The Italy striker will be out of contract next summer and has failed to agree terms on a new deal with Claudio Ranieri's side.
"There is a risk that we may lose him," admitted Secco. "But we are doing everything we can and we hope to reach an agreement.
"All I can say is that we are working on the right path to reach a deal between both sides."
The 32-year-old, who is in his 15th campaign with the Bianconeri, scored 20 goals in 35 league appearances last season to help the Turin giants secure promotion to the top flight.
