[b]Singapore Skipper Not Concerned About Bahrain Setback
After a 3-1 friendly defeat in Bahrain on Thursday evening, Singapore captain Indra Sahdan has urged his team-mates to keep their spirits high for Monday's first leg 2010 World Cup qualifier against Palestine.
“We didn’t play too badly and I believe we can only get better over the next few days,” the skipper told reporters after the game.
“In the first half we had more good chances to score compared to them but they scored off their only real chance.”
Defender Faizal Hamid says that the complexion of the match might have been different had the Lions taken their chances.
“We were not exactly outplayed by Bahrain tonight,” he said.
“We should concentrate on cutting down our errors which cost us conceding the goals.”
“If we had scored off the penalty, then maybe the result would have been different. We’re talking about a team that also made it to the World Cup last year.”
