Birmingham City chiefs have confirmed that the brother of their on-loan Honduran midfielder Wilson Palacios has been kidnapped.
A statement on club website read: "The club is supporting the player at this difficult stage and helping him remain in constant contact with his family in Honduras.
"The matter is being dealt with capably by the Honduran police, therefore Wilson is staying in the UK in the hope that his brother will be returned to his family soon.
"Wilson has the club's permission to return back to Honduras at any time, if he so wishes." -

1st was Robinho's mother in 2004.
2nd was Milan's Kaladze's brother in 2001.
i only heard about the kidnapping when the brother was found dead in 2006. -

Kidnappers Release PalaciosÂ’ Brother Unharmed
The terrifying kidnapping ordeal for BirminghamÂ’s Wilson Palacios' has ended witht the release of his 15-year-old brother.
PalaciosÂ’ brother had been kidnapped two weeks ago in the midfielderÂ’s home country of Honduras, with a ransom demanded for his release.
It is unknown yet whether the ransom has been paid.
Birmingham has supported the player over what has been a torrid past two weeks since Edwin Palacios was snatched from the family home in La Ceiba.
Palacios, currently on loan at City, learnt of the news while on international duty with Honduras in Miami.
The 23-year-old managed to play on throughout the ordeal, with the club confirming his nightmare had now drawn to a close.
A statement on Birmingham's website said the club was 'delighted that the Palacios family's terrible ordeal has successfully been resolved'. -
