Troubled Manchester City midfielder Stephen Ireland celebrated scoring the winning goal in his side's 1-0 win over Sunderland last night by dropping his shorts. The occasional Republic of Ireland international pulled his shorts down to his ankles to reveal a pair of Superman underpants after scoring an excellent volley.
His manager, Sven Goran Eriksson, didn't seemed to bothered by his antics. He said: "Superman - super goal. He has been training very well, I am just a little surprised it has taken him a bit of time to play better. I saw his celebration. Stephen scored a nice goal and I would like to leave it there. Maybe the FA will look at it - but I hope not."
