Bad boy Joey Barton faces a three-match ban after his latest outrage.
The FA look certain to charge the Newcastle star today after his horror tackle on Sunderland's Dickson Etuhu.
Barton escaped punishment after referee Martin Atkinson missed the ugly incident which saw the midfielder kick Etuhu in the groin in the 1-1 draw.
But while there was no action taken against Barton at the ground, FA disciplinary chiefs are determined to clamp down.
They can act retrospectively if the referee does not issue a yellow card and the incident is brought to their attention.
And with millions of TV viewers having witnessed the horrific challenge, the FA will be forced to take action. If found guilty, Barton could be hit with a three-match ban for violent conduct. It's just the latest in an infamous litany of excesses from Barton.
