Ebbsfleet United have agreed a deal to be taken over by fans' community website MyFootballClub in a unique deal that will see the club run like no other before it.
The Blue Square Premier (formerly the Conference) outfit will have 20,000 paid-up website users picking the team and deciding who to buy in the transfer market.
Over 50,000 people signed up to the online scheme, but so far only the 20,000 members who paid the £35 (€50) will have a say in the club's affair.
MyFootballClub will pay £700,000 (€993,000) to buy a 51 per cent controlling stake and Ebbsfleet's chairman, Jason Botley is delighted.
"We are united in believing this is a great opportunity," he told the BBC. "This extra finance and support will enable our club to progress."
Formerly called Gravesend & Northfleet, Ebbslfeet are currently ninth in the Blue Square Premier and lie just six points off the play-offs, a route into the Football League.
MyFootballClub creator Will Brooks added: "We hope that MyFootballClub members and Ebbsfleet supporters will join forces and make the football club more sustainable and successful."
