Everton midfielder Mikel Arteta has quite openly stated his intention to finish his career with Atletico Madrid at the Vicente Calderon.
According to the newspaper El Confidencial, he remarked, "Someday, I'll finish up with Atletico.
"It's a club that I always liked, and I'd love to play there."
For now, though, Arteta seems to be settling in fine at Goodison, having recently won a fan's vote for best player in the North West of England.
So great has his success been that he recently signed a contract extension at Everton that will see him stay on Merseyside for another four seasons after this one - at least in theory.
