Chelsea's Didier Drogba and Peter Cech revealed their delight after landing the best striker and goalkeeper gongs at the World Football Awards.
The International Sports Press Association (AIPS) voted for the awards and the prizes were presented to the players at Chelsea's training ground.
Goal-ace Drogba said: "This is fantastic. To be recognised by the world's media really is an honour, especially as they can be the hardest to please and the toughest critics."
Czech Republic keeper Cech said: "It is always nice to receive awards, but this one is really special.
"It shows that our performances here at Chelsea, both in the Premier League and Champions League, are having a global impact."
The World Football Awards 2007 were decided from votes cast by the 9,100 strong membership of the AIPS from over 150 countries across the world.
