Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger revealed that England international David Beckham has been told he can train with the Gunners as he attempts to remain fit during the MLS close season.
"We will help him to get fit and prepare for the season," Wenger told BBC Radio 5 Live.
"There's a good chance that he will come in January, but it's not decided."
Training with the Gunners will be highly beneficial for Beckham, not only because of the level of quality, but also due to the fact that Arsenal's training ground at London Colney is within an easy commute from Beckham's Hertfordshire home.
"He has 99 caps and I hope he will get 100, if not 100 then 120," said Wenger.
"At his age he needs to keep fit."
However, the Frenchman was quick to dampen any hopes that Beckham may once grace the English Premier League but in an Arsenal shirt.
"He comes (only) to keep fit and work hard," added Wenger.
