WENGER ... planARSENE WENGER has a radical solution for dealing with abusive fans. He says the culprits should be filmed — and the results shown to their families.
Wenger has thrown his full weight behind his former defensive star Sol Campbell who argued that footballers should not be subject to vile abuse from the stands. Campbell was tormented by Spurs fans after he joined the Gunners and will be in action for Portsmouth tonight against Wenger’s Premiership leaders. The former England centre-half spoke out after Tottenham visited Fratton Park 11 days ago and he suffered more taunts. Wenger — who has been on the receiving end himself particularly from Tottenham supporters — said: “Sol has a big point. “Why should we not be respected just because we are on the pitch? “I agree completely with him. Most of it is abusive. But why do people get away with it? Because they are among a mass of people. "I personally have a long and heavy experience of it. The best idea is to film them and then show the DVD to their family at home. That is the way to deal with it.
“They are entitled to an opinion. They can say to the manager “you are useless”, but you cannot say “you are a f****** b******.”
