A HOWLER from Titus Bramble let Everton leapfrog Liverpool into the Champions League places. The bumbling Wigan defender made a complete hash of a backpass to gift Andy Johnson the opener at the JJB Stadium.Joleon Lescott doubled the Toffees' lead before the Latics bagged a consolation. The victory means city rivals Liverpool must beat Aston Villa at Anfield on Monday night to regain their top four spot. That piles even more pressure on Kop boss Rafa Benitez, whose position is under serious threat.
Everton boss David Moyes said: "We were fortunate to get a goal when we did and to get two we were also. "You have to find a ways of winning games and at present we're doing that."
Wigan boss Steve Bruce refused to criticise Bramble but admitted the error was crucial. He said: "I was pleased with our start but the one thing you can't eradicate is human error. "Unfortunately for Titus he's been punished again. "That takes the confidence out of the team and we never recovered because the second goal was just as bad. "When you make those mistakes in the Premier League then you get punished."
I thought he was getting better lately... He even scored the equalizer against Pool recently right and defended really well against them in that match... How Pool fans must hate him even more after his latest blunder to of all team Everton... Now Everton take over Pool's 4th place in the table.
