Portsmouth have completed the loan signing of Czech Republic striker Milan Baros from French champions Lyon for the remainder of the season.
Baros, 26, joined Lyon from Aston Villa 12 months ago, after two years at the club following a move from Liverpool.
"It's a terrific opportunity to have a look at him," said Portmouth manager Harry Redknapp.
"He's a good player. He was the Golden Boot winner at a European Championship. He's got pace and makes good runs."
Baros scored 19 goals in 68 league appearances for Liverpool and managed nine goals in 34 starts after moving to Villa in 2005.
So far in the transfer window, Redknapp has bought Arsenal's French midfielder Lassana Diarra, taken Lens defender Lucien Aubey on loan and sold Matt Taylor to Bolton.
