I am appalled that MediaCorp does not seem interested at all to broadcast this important game. Historic or not, it IS our NATIONAL TEAM. Their games deserve to be broadcast on television.
ESPECIALLY THIS WORLD CUP QUALIFIER MATCH AND THE 5 OTHER GROUP GAMES IN THIS STAGE.
How much viewership does Mediacorp expect from some BORING AMERICAN MOVIE like HOPE SPRINGS as compared to a football game like SAUDI ARABIA vs SINGAPORE.
I am certain viewership for the match would max out the HOPE SPRINGS viewership rate by 10, 20 times.
This sort of opportunity only comes once every 4 years, and our ONLY local broadcaster does not have any interest in showing the match live.
This has got to be the worst case of media monopoly I’ve ever encountered personally.
If MEDIACORP is not able to provide what the majority want, then it is time for another broadcaster to emerge. A broadcaster who will support our LIONS.

Same. Singapore press holdings's subsidaries, mediaworks, the company who controlled channel U and I before being take over by mediacorp are all under temasek holdings so dont think can control much. Mediacorp, SPH all under temasek holdings.

True . The EPL thing grows in us . If you ever picked any Singaporean soccer fans and asked them for their favorite team , chances are 99% would say Manchester Utd , Liverpool , Arsenal etc ... Not the teams in our league , like Tampines , Home or SAF etc
