soccernet also got..
2-0 Saudi. A shot on the turn.
nevertheless, Lionel was brilliant today. those two goals really could not have been prevented.
however the choice of referee is extremely dubious. a Syrian ref? oh come on, how the heck can you pick a Middle-Eastern fellar to referee a game where a Middle-Eastern team is concerned?!
2-0 is not bad already
gg singapore
we still have chance to go 2nd round
only SA is good, the others (uzbekistan, lebanon) lousy
uzbek's star striker is playing in europe i think... this suggests a certain level of skill...
I agree with pigsticker. Uzbekistan, I feel, is more dangerous than Saudi. Their players are very strong and fast as well. Especially the team that played in the Asian Cup.
I have to say from today's game. There are positive points to take. We played the passing game whenever possible. We did create our own chances. But seriously, Saudi is better than us in playing the passing game. They got quite a number of good chances in the first half. But their finishing was not really good today.
I am one who gets worried when Goalkeepers win the best player for their teams in matches. That proves something about the defence. Seriously I don't think the defenders played well at all today. Or perhaps I have placed my expecations too high today.
The idea was to get a draw and then watch the Saudis and Uzbeks kill each other but we cant hide the fact that Singapapore is still a level below top Asian teams.Losing 2-0 is what most people had expected and its not that bad.Lets give the Arabs a taste of the Kallang roar and see if the Lions can avenge their defeat. For the time being it is back to the drawing board.

ya. $-driven. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
anyway, syrias dont like saudis. Do you actually think malaysian, indonesian, vietnamese, thai referees will favour Singapore?

Good point there. There is really nothing much to do but to put some faith in the referees like it or not.Was there any flaws in the refereeing last night? At the Saitama Stadium in Japan it looked as if the Saudi referee was slightly in favor of the home team but looking at it from a different view the Thais were really breaking all the rules...only thing they didnt do is to walk out![]()

er... the only team tats capable of upsetting in this group are the uzbeks i think.. they play european style and i'm sure the other seeded teams are glad they aren;t in the same group as them.. xD
Yeah Singapore is going to play Uzbekistan and not Kelantan.Only hope for Singapore is to capitalise on all the home games and try not to let in many goals while away.
hope Singapore can win all at home.
The next game is on March 26 playing with Lebanon and the Lions must try to score more than just a few (remember Laos & Noh Alam Shah?).Speaking of the Devil, I hope he would be included in the line-up.Sorry lah but Singapore pool of players and talents is limited and sometimes we have to be low in order to get results ..... I think FAS has no problems with that![]()
