Below is a little list compiled describing the opening week of the new season in numbers.
0- Number of Australian players registered by any of the twelve S.League clubs this season.
1 - Number of goals scored in the opening week by a player in the last Singapore squad called up by Raddy Avramovic for the World Cup qualifier against Saudi Arabia. Mustafic Fahrudin's header against Gombak on Wednesday was the only strike mustered by a current international in the opening round.
2 - The number of starting players for Geylang United in the match against Balestier Khalsa on Thursday who were at the club last season, defenders Noh Rahman and Aide Iskandar
3 - The number of matches that were won by the home side in the opening week. All went 2-1 in favour of the Super Reds, Geylang United and Home United.
4 - SAFFC midfielder Therdsak Chaiman has found the net in his team's opening match of the season for the past four seasons.
In 2005, he scored against Tampines Rovers in a 3-2 defeat, the following year he scored in a 2-1 win over Home United. Therdsak found the net in the Warriors' opening match of 2007 in a 1-1 draw against Sengkang and scored his team's third goal in the 3-1 win over Albirex Niigata (S) this week.
5 – The number of Japanese goalscorers in the opening week.
Woodlands' Akihiro Nakamura scored against the Super Reds, Balestier captain Haruki Seto scored against Geylang United, SAFFC's Norikazu Murakami scored against Albirex, Albirex's Akira Takase scored against SAFFC and Albirex's Keisuke Ogawa scored an, erm, own goal for SAFFC.
13 – The number of seasons that Geylang United goalkeeper Amos Boon has played in the S.League. In that time he has represented four clubs: Tanjong Pagar United, Sengkang Punggol (two spells), Home United and now Geylang.
15 – The total number of goals scored in the six opening week matches.
150 - Geylang's 2-1 win over Balestier Khalsa on 22 February was their 150th win in the S.League.
4,454 – The number of fans that packed the Jalan Besar Stadium for the inaugural Singapore Charity Shield match between SAFFC and Home United on 17 February.
6,000 – Super Reds midfielder Sin Hyun Ho's goal against Woodlands Wellington on the opening day wasn't just the first goal of the new season but the goal was also the 6,000th in the 13-year-history of the S.League.
