The Mail on Sunday claims that QPR's billionaire owners Flavio
Briatore, Bernie Ecclestone and Lakshmi Mittal are using all their
influence to try to convince the 35-year-old former to make the switch
to Loftus Road to help guide them to the Premier League next season.
The paper alleges that talks have already been ongoing for a few weeks,
and even goes as far as claiming that only minor details need to be
settled to complete the sensational deal.
Figo's current deal
with the Italian champions runs out in the summer, and it was believed
that he would then either retire from football, or move to America to
play in the MLS. There has also been talk of him extending his deal,
but the likelihood of that was severely diminished after he reportedly
refused to come on as a substitute during the loss to Liverpool last
week.
The former World Player of the Year has shown that he is
open to exotic challenges at this stage of his career as he was on the
verge of joining Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad last summer before
pulling out of the deal at the eleventh-hour.

Reports have claimed that the 35-year-old could leave Inter Milan to join the Loftus Road revolution in the summer.
But the former Barcelona and Real Madrid star, who has made 15 Serie A appearances for Inter this season, has scotched the speculation.
"I am surprised by these stories," Figo told the Lusa news agency.
"It is not true that I am negotiating my arrival in England, as has been published in the press."
