Senderos is “mentally shattered”

  ARSENAL’S Philippe Senderos is “mentally shattered” and may not play again this season.

   

  SunSport can reveal centre-back Senderos broke down and cried after the Gunners’ Champions League 4-2 defeat at Liverpool last week. Boss Arsene Wenger gave him a couple of days off to pull himself together but he was left out of the squad at Old Trafford.

  The Swiss defender was blamed for Sami Hyypia’s Kop equaliser in the Anfield defeat. An Arsenal insider said: “Senderos seems to have gone mentally at the moment. He is in a bit of a mess. "He knows he did not play well at Liverpool and feels responsible.

   

  “The manager tried to talk to him but he is struggling to get his mind right again.”

  hmm...if gallas as a captain can breakdown.. no reason y his temates can't.. i think in another year or two, fabregas can be a captain.. he seemed to have more guts and wits than others on the field...

  this guy has made one too many mistakes as a defender. He needs to go somewhere else and he may just shine there but not at arsenal where he has lost all his confidence.

   

  Look at david james. He left liverpool after making a series of mistakes but he's shining elsewhere.

  well, the key is to give him a chance right.. and then build him up..

  and to do that, play him more..

  he's actually pretty mediocre.. and if a player breaks down, i dunno...

  bright side - he's passionate
  dark side - he's not mentally tough

  actually, at the end of this season, i can see Wenger selling off people like

  Gilberto - sad coz he was a pretty good stand-in captain last season.. i think he would have excelled as captain.. but i think giving the band to Gallas broke him

  Gallas - not there when the team needed him most..

  Toure - somehow now the weak link instead of being the rock of defence like the last season

  Adebayor - when he's good, he's really good.. but that's only 10% of the time.. most of the time, he's a passenger...

  i really thought Wenger would give Gilberto the captaincy this year and allowing him to lead Arsenal for this and next season, then allowing him to retire or move on and then giving the armband to Fabregas... Fabregas probably needs one more season and if Wenger can keep him, give him the armband..
