Chelsea are looking to step up their £20million interest in Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery.
Sporting director Frank Arnesen and scout Rainer Bonhof were in the crowd to watch France international Ribery play an influential role in the German Cup Final on Saturday as Bayern beat Borussia Dortmund 2-1 in extra time.
Ribery, 25, was outstanding, although the crucial goals came from Luca Toni. Striker Toni, 30, a target for AC Milan, has also crossed Arnesen's radar but Chelsea are reluctant to recruit players who are 30 and over.
Ribery is on Roman Abramovich's summer hitlist as he looks to give around £100m to whoever is in charge come the start of the season.
Arsenal showed interest in the former Marseille winger last year but Bayern paid £20m to make him their record signing. He has been a big success and incoming coach Jurgen Klinsmann has said he wants him to stay.
hope arsenal can get him ![]()
ribery plays really exciting football! imagine cristiano ronaldo, but less speed with alot more fluidity. (cristiano looks very stiff whn running with the ball, ribery looks like zidane whn hes dribbling up feel, the ball seems to be magically stuck to his legs.)
would cost at least 25-28mil pounds tho...and id hate to see him join the chelscums
bayern payed 20mil to get him i doubt bayern will accept 20mil back for thier star man la.
they should have signed him instead of ballack.
