Modric is one of the hottest transfer targets in Europe as the summer
approaches, having been linked with a host of Premier League clubs
including Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City, as well as
continental giants such as Barcelona, Inter Milan and Bayern Munich.
Newcastle
boss Kevin Keegan reportedly placed an ₤18.5 million bid for Modric
this week, but was rejected in his attempt to bring the Dinamo Zagreb
playmaker to Tyneside.
And according to The Sun, Tottenham have swooped in to secure the 22-year-old’s signature with a ₤20 million offer and a five-year deal.
“Everything
has been agreed and Modric will be going to Tottenham,” said a source
from Zagreb. “All the details are in place and the fee is £20m.”
