
The midfielder will be forced to sit out the last two games of the season, starting with Everton’s clash with Arsenal today, after suffering an abdominal injury.
With Everton looking to seal the points they need to secure Uefa Cup football next season, Moyes has come out to insist that Arteta will be at the club next season.
“I haven't had one phone call about Arteta. He signed a new five-year deal a few months ago and every indication is he wants to stay” Moyes explained.
“Not having Mikel for a game like Arsenal is a big disadvantage because he is so talented. But this season we have shown we have strength in depth” the Toffees boss added.
“In our own way we've been building like Arsenal, bringing people through, making them part of a set-up that is designed to ensure long-term stability and success” he concluded.
