
Portsmouth have revealed that Sol Campbell will leave the club this summer and may be replaced by Benfica defender Luisao in a £12million deal.
Campbell is out-of-contract in the summer and has never hidden his desire to play abroad, with Spanish side Villarreal long-term admirers.
And Pompey's director of communications Gary Double has now confirmed the 33-year-old will play his last game for the club in the FA Cup final on May 17.
Double did not reveal Campbell's destination but the did admit Luisao is Harry Redknapp's top target to replace the veteran this summer.
"The assessment of Luisao is very good," Double said in the Daily Express.
"Campbell will leave and Luisao is Redknapp's preference for the defence.
"We have already spoken to Benfica and they have set the fee at £12million as a starting point for negotiations."
