Lehmann fires parting shot
JENS LEHMANN has delivered a final parting shot at Arsene Wenger, claiming the Arsenal boss would have been sacked if he was a coach in Germany.
The goalkeeper said his farewell to Gunners fans after five years between the sticks at the final home game of the season against Everton. It meant that Lehmann and Arsenal had finished without a trophy for the last three years and he insists that failure would have been punished anywhere else.
He said: "Arsene Wenger is the club - even if he does not own it. You could not imagine what would happen without him. "We have won nothing and that is not optimal."
At one stage Arsenal were five points ahead of their rivals in the Premier League title race and then four weeks later fell six points behind. Lehmann added: "With structures as in Germany where the coach is just the coach Wenger would be under completely different pressure."
unfair statement.
bundesliga is different class compare to EPL.
Who can premier league in EPL if you spent only 20million pound/season?
of coz, arsenal can win the bundesliga every season, he they are in bundesliga
with such a thin squad of players in arsenal, its obvious they would surely lose in this premier league campaign sooner or later.
So i guess that's why wenger isnt sacked. wenger has done pretty well to make arsenal top at least for a while.
