Nasri scored the winning goal against minnows Racing Strasbourg today,
on the final day of the season, as l'OM finished a comfortable third,
qualifying for next season's Champions League.
Dubbed by many as
the new Zidane, Nasri has been linked with a move away from the
Velodrome for a few years now, but recently signed a contract extension
with the club and looked likely to stay.
Indeed news of his
contract extension broke just 10 days ago, with the deal set to see him
stay at the club until 2012. However, with contracts becoming
increasingly insignificant in modern football, it looks as if Nasri,
who has been linked with the likes of Real Madrid and Juventus over the
past couple of years, will be leaving the club.
When asked about
his goal in today's game, he said: “It is very important because it is
perhaps my last match at the Stade Velodrome.”
This came after L'Equipe reported that the playmaker is one of Arsene Wenger's transfer targets for the summer.
I got a feeling his words got twisted, and what he meant was it's the last match of the season at home. ![]()
