The Catalan club ended the campaign with a 5-3 win over already relegated Murcia in La Liga, a result that did not prevent them from having their second consecutive season without lifting a trophy.
Many changes will take place in personnel over the summer, from the departure of coach Frank Rijkaard to the sale of several players that were pivotal throughout the successful seasons enjoyed by the club in recent history.
Laporta says that the club will now "tranquilly analyze everything there is to renew" in the club.
"A cycle that gave us good moments, including glorious ones, such as the Champions League in 2006, is now over," Laporta told LaSexta after the game.
"If cycles are ended, so are the people that formed that group. Not all, because there are solid foundations and a group of youngsters that can still give us many delights."
On the situation of Bojan Krkic, who refused to play for Spain at Euro 2008, Laporta said: "He has gone through it all this season, he has grown up so fast.
"He is a boy with a present and a future in Barça and in the Spanish squad, but we need to be calm."
