SENDEROS insists Wenger wants him to stay.
PHILIPPE SENDEROS insists Arsene Wenger wants him to stay at Arsenal. Gunners boss Wenger had revealed he hopes to sign a defender in the summer, fuelling speculation Senderos was not wanted at the Emirates. But the Swiss defender has confirmed he expects to stay at the club.
Senderos said: "I still have a contract with two years left on it and the boss wants me to stay. "I'm also very happy in London so yes I still hope to be there next season."
Arsenal finished third in the Premier League after falling away in title race but Senderos says the Gunners will comeback stronger next season. He added: "Obviously we had a disappointing year overall because we were five points clear at one stage and it was really hard to lose it all in a few games.
"Then we lost in the Champions League to Liverpool, which was very disappointing for the whole team. "But we know we have the quality to come back strong next year."
