Real Madrid captain Raul has threatened La Liga chiefs with a mass strike if new measures are not brought in to protect players' rights.
The 30-year-old, the vice-president of the Association of Spanish Footballers (AFE), met with representatives from the Spanish Football League (LFP) to discuss the case of Levante, whose players twice threatened a strike over unpaid wages.
The AFE want the LFP to sign an agreement which would see each top-flight club given 84,000 euros to put to one side to pay off debts to their players should the need arise.
"If there is no agreement and the debts are not overcome, the league won't start," said Raul.
The AFE have given the LFP until July 5 to sign the agreement, vowing to call an Extraordinary General Assembly if they do not.
