Arsenal are closing in on an £11m deal for Marseille midfielder Samir Nasri and hope to follow up by bringing in Clement Chantome and Francis Coquelin. Marseille have agreed to let Nasri go and want another Arsenal target, Lyon's Hatem Ben Arfa, to replace him. Nasri is expected in London this week for a medical before talking over a four-year deal.
As revealed in Sportsmail, Paris St Germain holding midfielder Chantome, 22, is believed to have already met Arsene Wenger while Laval's Coquelin, 17, impressed enough on trial to merit the offer of a permanent deal.
Arsenal have also handed a trial to Ghanaian starlet Tawrick Jibril, 16, who has been linked with Atletico Madrid. Another Wenger target, Roma's Alberto Aquilani says he is flattered by Arsenal's interest but hopes to agree a new deal with the Italian club.
Alexander Hleb, wanted by Inter Milan and widely expected to join his close friend Flamini in the Italian city, emerged yesterday as a possible target for Real Madrid.

Nazri Nasir

Marseille-based newspaper La Provence reported last week that Nasri was
on the verge of agreeing a ₤12.5 million move to the Emirates, and
French daily L’Equipe even went as far as claiming that the highly
promising playmaker was due to travel to London to undergo a medical
and agree personal terms yesterday.
"We are not in a hurry. It
is true that we are examining an offer from Arsenal, which is
interesting for Samir Nasri from a sporting point of view," said his
agent Jean-Pierre Bernes.
"But I have also received other offers."
The
20-year-old French international has established himself as one of the
hottest prospects in Europe over the past few seasons and has emerged
as Arsene Wenger's top transfer priority.
