Manchester City representatives have met Ronaldinho's agent in Bangkok in a bid to woo the Brazilian to Eastlands.
Pairoj Piempongsant, a Thai adviser to City owner Thaksin Shinawatra, said the club were trying to convince Ronaldinho that a move to a "smaller" club would represent a new challenge for someone who has won it all.
The businessman also said a decision on Sven Goran Eriksson's future as manager would be made within a fortnight.
Pairoj claims he met Roberto de Assis Moreira, Ronaldinho's brother and agent, adding: "I presented him with a vision why we strongly believe in his potential, that he is the best player of the world.
"There are several clubs, all bigger than Man City, that are approaching him. There isn't anything left for him to win. It is like a teenager who gets bored with something quickly and always looks for new challenges."
AC Milan and Italian rivals Inter are both thought to be interested in signing Ronaldinho from Barcelona.
The Brazil forward joined the Catalans in 2003 and helped them win back-to-back league titles in 2005 and 2006, and the Champions League in 2006.
He has been sidelined since mid-March with a leg injury and Barcelona president Joan Laporta has said the player needs to leave the club to revive his career.
he is a gona!!
he more interested in hooking gals, clubbing, fine dinning than working out.
whoever sign him are just to please the fans and sell jersey more than footballing sense.
epl is getting interesting if he comes.
its time epl has more classy players like him
considering the amount we have to pay to watch epl i will love to see all the top players in england.
good to see lots of new worldclass players in EPL but i would still put my money on him not making ManC as his next club
