Doubt had surrounded Beckham's international future after he missed out on Fabio Capello's first England squad for the friendly against Switzerland in February.
But the 33-year-old was recalled to the squad for the friendly against France and reached the milestone in the 1-0 defeat at the Stade De France last month.
The LA Galaxy midfielder was presented with the cap before kick-off in England's 2-0 victory over the USA at Wembley in what was his 101st appearance for his country.
"I was honoured to reach a hundred caps in France and to come back and get 101," Beckham said.
"To receive the golden cap off Sir Bobby Charlton - who is my dad's hero and a big hero of mine and loved by people in life not just football - is a great honour."
Beckham was replaced by Blackburn's David Bentley at half-time having set up England's opening goal with a trademark free-kick which was headed home by defender John Terry.
