Chelsea have reportedly approached AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti about taking over as their new manager at Stamford Bridge.
The Times and Daily Express quote 'sources in Italy' claiming the Italian has been approached to succeed Avram Grant after the Israeli was sacked last week.
A double Champions League winner, Ancelotti would certainly represent the experience of European success that Roman Abramovich desires, and his Milan team do play the sort of attractive football desired at the Bridge.
Ancelotti adds to the list of those linked with the role, after the Portuguese FA claimed Chelsea had approached them about Luiz Felipe Scolari.
As well as Scolari, Roberto Mancini is said to be one of the favourites for the role after Inter Milan confirmed his sacking, and Russia coach Guus Hiddink is still being linked with the role.
Mancini's right-hand man Sinisa Mihajlovic, meanwhile, insists that the Chelsea job will not be too big for the former Inter Milan manager.
Mihajlovic was Mancini's assistant in Milan and is expected to join him at Stamford Bridge if he takes over from Grant.
He is still the clear favourite with the bookmakers and Mihajlovic said: "I don't consider Chelsea to be a club superior to Inter in terms of history. It is for that reason I say Roberto could easily manage Chelsea and do well.
"Mancini has been at Inter for four years and has won a lot. I think his future is abroad. The Premiership has always fascinated Roberto."
The Serb confirmed that he would follow Mancini to London, saying: "My future is linked with Roberto for now. Where he goes, I will follow as we are a bonded by a profound friendship."
