Real Madrid had their last training session on Friday
night and all the players will be heading off on their holidays all the more better
off financially.
The players each received €360.000
for finishing La Liga as champions and they were awarded a further €20,000
following their 2-2 draw against Real Zaragoza -a result which went towards helping
relegate the Blanquiazul.
The extra payment was a premium and Mundo Deportivo
claim that a Real Madrid club source revealed that the players were offered the
extra money if they got a good result against Zaragoza.
The Romareda based club were
fighting for relegation and it was a do or die game against Los Merengues.
Although several Real Madrid stars were rested by Schuster, Real came away from
the game with a decent result which meant Zaragoza had to win their last game.
They failed to do this and were relegated.
Reports in Spain seem to suggest that Los
Merengues offered the bonus payments to ensure the result against the Romareda
side would ensure their relegation because at the time, Real were already
champions and for them it was a dead rubber game.
will FIFA come out to say something again??? give bonus also cannot ar?? they wan to win every match what... especially the last one...champion or not is not an issue...![]()
if i'm not worng, they allow this in la liga.. its called suitcases or something, i remember reading an article on soccernet on it..
its not really bribing, as its paying money to motivate the player to play better rather then worse.
LOL utterly rubbish , this is atrocious! real madrid is a worldclass team. And the best team in the world. hala madrid!
It is disappointing to see a great club like real madrid to pay their own players to win matches. tsk. ![]()
why is it disappointing motivate players to win games? they didnt even win, anyway just a draw
you pay your players wages to make sure they win titles, isnt it, all football clubs does that, with bonus payments and stuff, even an average worker gets year end bonus. lol
go madrid go!!! madrid forever, best club in the world
can EPL try it too?
i bet they do..
but for past 19 years, pool can't sway the big 3..
Booooo Madrid Booooooo they are the club i hate the most now haha
This is ethically-questionable,but allowed in La Liga.
It's called motivation payments.=D
Kinda of like our Civil Servants pay.=/
