Spurs are reportedly ready to hijack Liverpool's bid to sign David Bentley by offering Blackburn two players and £7million for the England ace.
Tottenham boss Juande Ramos is ready to overhaul his White Hart Lane squad this summer in a bid to gatecrash the Big Four's Premier League party.
Ramos sees Bentley as a vital cog in his plans for the Londoners, and according to The People is ready to offer Rovers a deal which would see Hossam Ghaly, Aaron Lennon and £7million heading to Ewood Park.
Rovers boss Mark Hughes, whose future at Ewood is uncertain due to reported interest from managerless Chelsea, may be tempted by the offer as Lennon would fill Bentley's place on the right flank, and Ghaly would provide back-up for veteran central midfielder Tugay.
Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has Bentley and his England colleague Gareth Barry high on his summer shopping list - but is more likely to offer just straight cash for the Rovers winger.
Spurs, meanwhile, will reportedly turn to Diego Milito if they fail to hang on to Dimitar Berbatov, who wants to play in the Champions League next season.
