Fulham are reportedly set to make a £4million offer for Charlton's Zheng Zhi - but could face competition from Middlesbrough and Sunderland.
The China international's future at The Valley is in doubt after the club failed to earn promotion to the Premier League last season.
The 27-year-old is desperate for a return to the top flight and is understood to be ready to listen to offers.
According to reports in the Far East, Fulham are in the process of putting together a £4million package for the former Shandong Luneng player, who is also believed to have caught the eye of North-East managerial duo Roy Keane and Gareth Southgate.
Addicks boss Alan Pardew is hoping Zheng will stay for at least another term, after the midfielder scored seven goals in 42 appearances for the club.
However, he may be willing to part with the player if Charlton receive a reasonable offer.
7 championship goals. Not bad for a Chinese player. Maybe he should try his luck in e EPL again.
