The Liverpool Daily Post has reported that there is a strong possibility that Clarke, whose Chelsea future is shrouded in uncertainty following the recent sackings of Avram Grant and Henk ten Cate, could be seeking a new challenge.
And Moyes, who has been without an assistant ever since Alan Irvine left for a managerial role at Preston North End, could be set to pounce.
The Everton boss will be hoping that Clarke’s expertise could help his side to break back into the top four in the Premier League, but any departure from Clarke, who is extremely popular amongst players and fans alike at Stamford Bridge, would be a major blow to Chelsea and their owner Roman Abramovich, who needs to keep the likes of Clarke in order to keep the fans on side.
Former Preston boss Moyes is reportedly looking to bring in Clarke sooner rather than later to assist him with his pre-season planning process, but could hit a stumbling block if Clarke, as speculated, is interested in moving into management himself in the near future.
44-year-old Clarke, who spent eleven years in West London during his playing days, was an integral part of the coaching team under Grant as he was previously with Jose Mourinho.
Clarke should not be an assistant manager.. chelsea should pull him to be a manager.. after all only he now has the realtionship..
noo.. clarke must stay, everyone at chelsea love him.
good idea by everton...
Not a bad choice by Everton.
