Tottenham's sporting director Damien Comolli is convinced that Giovani dos Santos can be a massive hit in the Barclays Premier League.
The 19-year-old Mexico international, who has signed a five-year deal, could cost Spurs £8.6m depending on appearances. Comolli's comments were echoed by Tottenham coach Juande Ramos who hailed the teenager as an exciting signing after the London club finalised his move from Barcelona for an initial £4.7 million.
"Giovani possesses a great combination of physical power and explosivity, along with fine technical skills," said Comolli. "He is someone who can create and score goals. "He is young but not without experience and will be a great asset for the club. The fact we have a Spanish speaking coaching staff, as well as Gilberto, will help him adapt, settle quickly and I believe he has the skills to be successful in England."
Meanwhile, Ramos is convinced the youngster has all the necessary skills to fit
into his White Hart Lane revolution. "If Giovani progresses as we hope, he will be a terrific player," said Ramos. "This is a young player with a lot of potential, who I have watched for some time. "For us it is an exciting signing because he has excellent quality, he operates well in different positions and, above all, is technically excellent."
ya.. and if after he eventually successed in all those promises Real will come acalling and Spurs will end up being just a stepping stone
nevermind whether stepping stone or what.
as long as can sell at hefty profits, it a win win situation for both clubs.
Yeah, if they can sell him anything above $20m in 2 years time, they will be making a big profit already... So doesn't really matter, its a win win situation...
