Currently Sir Alex Ferguson's assistant manager at Manchester United,
Queiroz seems to be the red hot favourite to succeed Luiz Felipe
Scolari in charge of the Portuguese national team.
Record says
that Queiroz, who is on holiday in Mozambique, has not received any
offer as of yet, as the Portuguese federation will only hold
negotiations after Euro 2008.
The appointment of Queiroz would
represent his return to the Portuguese national squad after an
unsuccessful stint from 1991 to 1994.
He also led United Arab
Emirates and South Africa before joining Ferguson at Old Trafford, and
of course had an infamous year at Spanish giants Real Madrid where a
late season collapse saw them end trophyless, as they would remain in
the following two seasons.
The 55-year-old is in the running to
replace Ferguson as Manchester United coach once the Scottish veteran
decides to retire from management.
he went for an attachment with a top club at bernabeu. now going for another attachment, but with a national team this time?
