Trezeguet has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona over the past
few weeks or so, and the Frenchman is currently second choice behind Emmanuel
Adebayor in the list of strikers that Josep Guardiola wants for next season.
Tuttosport says that Juventus will sell Trezeguet providing
they receive an offer of €25m, and they have already started planning what they
will do with this money.
The first investment idea is Ajax
hitman Klaas Jan Huntelaar, who is considered as a similar mould of striker to
Trezeguet, and is actually available for exactly €25m.
The second idea is to spend €15m on Udinese forward Fabio
Quagliarella, before using the remaining €10m on Lyon
full back Fabio Grosso.
It remains to be seen whether Barcelona will be prepared to fork out such a sum
of money for a player who turns 31 later this year, however despite his age
there are still many who consider Trezeguet as one of, if not, the best penalty box
striker in the world.
Trezegol
was incredibly left out of France’s Euro
2008 squad, despite scoring 20 Serie A goals last season. Les Bleus
crashed out in the first round with just one point and one goal from
three games.
