LOVE rat ASHLEY COLE strolls on the beach with wife CHERYL yesterday — during a romantic break aimed at saving their marriage. The couple have spent a week at a plush private villa and appeared to have put their troubles behind them.
But last night pals warned that Cheryl’s decision to make up with Ashley — caught cheating with a hairdresser — could be an own goal. One said: “There will be very few people who are close to Cheryl that welcome the news.
“Any spurned woman will know the saying ‘once a cheater always a cheater’ and lots of people are certain this applies to Ashley.
“Everyone just wants the best for Cheryl and she may regret this decision.”

It was the couple’s first holiday since The Sun revealed Chelsea defender Ashley had cheated with blonde Aimee Walton, 22.
He has spared no expense on the trip to impress shattered Cheryl, 24. Each day he has left her to sunbathe at the Spanish villa while he runs errands in town.
The couple’s trip was cloaked in secrecy and they even took separate flights from the UK. A Spanish source said: “He booked it last-minute and didn’t even bat an eyelid at the cost.”
The trip is a welcome break from filming for new X Factor judge Cheryl, while Ashley is preparing to start training for the new season. It is the latest in a string of attempts by Ashley to patch up the marriage. He sent Cheryl balloons and flowers while she was on tour but blundered by texting her about them before they arrived.
