Luiz Felipe Scolari has prepared the ground ahead of his arrival in England by announcing that he has no interest in being referred to as "Big Phil".
The 59-year-old, who assumes control at Chelsea on July 1, has said that he will be able to acclimatise to British football, food, even the weather; but one facet of our culture he will not be interested in adopting is a propensity for nicknames.
"I might find it hard adapting to the ways of football in England, to the rain, and maybe to the food. But I will do it," he said. "But one thing I cannot adapt easily to is when they call me Big Phil.
Scolari follows in former Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho's footsteps, who recently demanded that his "Special One" soubriquet be abandoned. It will be about all they have in common this week as the Portuguese takes a proactive role attempting to lever Frank Lampard from London.
"I don't want to see my name spelled with a 'Ph', I want to see it spelled with an F. It is Felipe, not Phil. I will not allow anyone in England or anywhere else to change my name."
Good luck with that Phil.
haha.
hahaa
Oh... Big Phi, seems like he doesn't know the Press in UK yet... Now that they know he don't like being called "Big Phi", they are going to start calling him this from now on... lol
Well, it could have been worse... At least they aren't calling him Big Fool for the time being...

Big Phil: I want a Ron deal

LUIZ FELIPE SCOLARI will tell Chelsea: Get me Ronaldinho. New Blues boss Big Phil has spoken with the Barcelona playmaker in the past few days and wants him to be part of his Stamford Bridge revolution.
Scolari has been on holiday in Portugal but has had phone conversations with Ronnie, who insists he will be fit for the new season. The Brazil star was plagued by injury and personal problems which saw him miss most of last term for Barca.
Scolari will arrive in London this weekend to begin work and tell Roman Abramovich that Ronaldinho is not a spent force. The two Brazilians combined to help their country win the World Cup in 2002. And Big Phil reckons he can still get the best from the star.
Barca want £25million for Ron, 28, but Scolari believes £15m is a more realistic fee. The player will not be offered an astronomical salary and should be paid no more than the £130,000 per week that John Terry earns.
With the deal for Barca midfielder Deco all but done already, Chelsea will negotiate for team-mates Ron and Samuel Eto’o. But striker Eto’o has asked for £160,000 a week to sign for Blues.

I don't think anyone wants to go to Chelsea for a low pay.
