
Dunne, 28, looked all set to leave the Eastlands this summer, but the
arrival of Mark Hughes has forced him into a rethink and now City are
looking to put an end to all speculation by offering him a £55,000 per
week deal.
The Republic of Ireland defender was disillusioned by
the unceremonious sacking of former manager Sven-Goran Eriksson and
felt a new challenge somewhere else was what he needed, with the likes
of Portsmouth, Tottenham, Newcastle and Sunderland all too happy to
accomodate him.
Now, however, it looks like City’s four-time
Player of the Year will continue to form one of the best central
defensive partnerships in the Premiership with Micah Richards, and will
have a little more pocket-money to boot!
i dont think 55k per week is "one of the highest paid" thats for sure.
