MANCHESTER CITY will smash their transfer record with a £19million deal for Brazil ace Jo. Mark Hughes has lined up the mega deal as his first act as the new boss at Eastlands.
The CSKA Moscow striker is set to be unveiled as a City player on Monday. CSKA president Yevgeny Giner said: “It’s the right price for Jo. "I think it would be wrong now not to let the player move to England.
“If Manchester City settle the issues regarding a visa, then the transfer will take place.” And the move could pave the way for Jo's international team-mate Ronaldinho to follow him to the Premier League.
City are battling it out with Chelsea and AC Milan for the Barcelona star. The swoop for Jo shatters the club's previous record deal — the £13m move for Nicolas Anelka.
