Chelsea linked with swoop for Arsenal striker Adebayor as Drogba gets ready to depart
Chelsea could make a surprise move for Emmanuel Adebayor if Didier Drogba leaves Stamford Bridge this summer. Fernando Torres remains top of Chelsea's wanted list and new boss Luiz Felipe Scolari is believed to have identified Real Madrid's Robinho as a player who could bring flair to Stamford Bridge.
But Chelsea are also monitoring events at Arsenal, with Adebayor unhappy over the club's refusal to meet his demands for a pay rise to £120,000-a-week and expressing a desire to join Barcelona or AC Milan.
That is not the kind of money that worries Chelsea and he is on a list of targets should Scolari suddenly need a replacement for Drogba. He is also considering a £27m move for Robinho, who has two years remaining on his £30,000-a-week contract at the Bernabeu but is unhappy at the lack of movement on an improved deal.
